Janet Case, CEO and co-founder, Janet earned a Stanford MBA after selling her first company. Before founding Proxio, Janet was CEO of two of the largest Associations of Realtors® in the U.S. –simultaneously–providing services to over 7500 agents in hundreds of brokerages; she also ran an online real estate forms company and participated in the governance of Silicon Valley’s MLS. A real estate investor for over 30 years, Janet augmented her U.S. real estate knowledge by spending a year researching the needs and practices of foreign real estate agencies.
Janet previously held senior management roles in Fortune 500 companies Varian Associates and Tencor Instruments, where her responsibilities included international marketing for Europe, Asia and North and South America, and launching new products worldwide. Janet is a recognized speaker at industry conferences and real estate associations on the topic of internationalizing real estate practices and building professional referral networks.
Peter Spicer, CTO and co-founder, Peter is one of the US’s top 10 technologists in the design and management of real estate information services; he built the 4th largest MLS in the US, RE InfoLink is Silicon Valley. Peter participated in crafting the Real Estate Transaction Standard (RETS) for the U.S. real estate industry, and was the chief architect of a complex data-sharing schema for Bay Area MLSs. Prior to co-founding Proxio, Peter managed mission-critical software development for over 20 years in Silicon Valley technology companies, in the semiconductor, medical device and legal services industries. Peter holds BS/MS degrees in computer science and computer engineering.
Larry Knapp, Executive Vice President, Larry is a real estate Industry veteran who brings 30 years of experience to Proxio’s global team. Larry is the former president of residential brokerages Alain Pinel Realtors and Coldwell Banker Northern California. In addition to running two of the largest US residential brokerage firms, Knapp has a deep and well-rounded background in organized real estate. He is on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Realtors, and served for seven years on the board of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), where he was appointed to NAR’s Executive Committee in 2008 and 2009. Knapp is also a board member and past chairman of MLSListings, Inc., one of the largest US Multiple Listing Services, and is a past president of the Sacramento Association of Realtors.
Robert Spicer, Vice President, Global Development Robert is an international commercial and intellectual property lawyer qualified in the US and as a solicitor England and Wales. In addition to his legal background, he held senior positions in Fortune 500 companies responsible for business strategy and new market development. Robert has a wealth of experience with startup and larger organizations. He helped to develop a Silicon Valley startup from inception through to an IPO on Nasdaq, and served as Executive Vice President, International Development for the leading startup incubator, GorillaPark, where he also served as Managing Director for 6 of its international business units.
Kate Gerwe, Chief Marketing Officer, Kate is a seasoned marketing and business development executive with 20 years experience in Fortune 50 companies and start-ups, with deep experience in online services. Kate has successfully led and grown marketing teams at Yahoo, Netscape, and AOL, and helped grow Yahoo Broadband business from $50M to $200M and from 1M to 10M subscribers in a three year period. Kate holds BA and MBA degrees from Stanford University.
